HOUSTON ARTS TEAM

August 31,2012- July 2013 I will be serving with a program called Mission year. Mission year is an urban ministry program focused on Christian service and discipleship. I will be living and working with a team of people in Houston, TX to serve and create community through the avenue of the arts. The majority of my time I will be serving at St. John's Church in downtown Houston. The program is committed to the command of Jesus to “love God and love people,” by placing the needs of our neighbors first and developing committed disciples of Christ with a heart for the poor. The day by day schedule includes intentional community, professional service, discipleship, neighborhood outreach, church partnership, and education/training. (for more info check out the links on the sidebar)

Pray: for a heart to love God and love people.

Wait.

"Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will not be shaken.
My victory and honor come from God alone.
He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
O my people, trust in him at all times.
Pour out your heart to him,
for God is our refuge."

(Psalm 62:5-8)

God has allowed me to wait quietly before Him in this process of calling me to Houston this year.

After living the majority of my life in Massachusetts, going to school at the University of Virginia, doing Urban Project in Los Angeles,CA twice, this past summer enjoying the Colorado Project in Fort Collins, CO, and finally ending up in Houston Texas, I have had the privilege to experience different parts of the United States.  Along, the way I have been blessed with amazing family and friends who love me and care for me.  Thank you!!!
